At the epicentre of the disaster were Malawi, Zimbabwe and Mozambique, where cholera cases went up more than four-fold between 2022 and 2023. Over 1,600 deaths were reported in the three countries. More than 126,000 law enforcement officers participated in operations to combat crime  Ecuador’s police and armed forces have detained more than 10,000 people suspected of taking part in armed riots triggered by prison riots in early January, the press service of the National Police of Ecuador reported. “From January 9 to February 25, 10,134 people were arrested, 268 of them on suspicion of terrorism,” the press service said on its X page. More than 29,500 people have been killed since the start of the Israeli military operation in the Gaza Strip, according to the data presented by the Ministry of Health of the Palestinian enclave. “Currently, the number of victims of Israeli aggression in Gaza has reached 29,514,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement, which was quoted by Al Jazeera TV channel. Akinkugbe discusses whether the new Trade Policy Tools benefit Africa. The new tools offer opportunities for countries to mitigate the climate change effect of their trade practices.
