Seventy-five per cent of Kenyans believe the country is headed in the wrong direction, citing the high cost of living, poor leadership, rights violations, unemployment, and corruption.
Only 14 per cent believe Kenya is on the right path.
The findings are from a survey titled The TIFA National Public Issues Survey: State of the Nation, Kenya Kwanza Government Performance, 2027 Election Issues, and Foreign Relations, released on Wednesday, May 28.
Nine per cent of Kenyans said the country is headed neither in the right nor the wrong direction, while two per cent were unsure.
The survey was conducted over five days, from May 2 to May 6, 2025, across nine regions: Nairobi, Mt Kenya, Central Rift, Coast, Lower Eastern, Northern, Nyanza, South Rift, and Western. Data was collected through telephone interviews with respondents.
