Moses Kabali, a Ugandan citizen, has been sentenced to five years by the Kahawa Chief Magistrate Court in Nairobi for fabricating a terror alert aimed at punishing his wife. Kabali faced hoaxing charges under the Prevention of Terrorism Act No. 30 of 2012. On June 30, 2024, Kabali emailed Interpol’s General Secretariat in France, falsely claiming that a known terrorist group was plotting an imminent attack in Kenya. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) reported that Kabali urged Interpol to alert Kenyan security forces, stating that the man “alleged that two individuals known to him working with other unknown terror…

His lawyer, Paul Muite, claims the allegations backed by 282 Members of the National Assembly on Tuesday last week were based on hearsay and lies. Mr Gachagua also accuses the National Assembly of skipping proper public participation and voting on grounds outside…

The proceedings were quite uneventful, with lawmakers voting on the motion tabled by Kibwezi West MP Mwengi Mutuse. The lawmaker argued in his motion that the DP had, during his time in office, grossly violated the Constitution and failed to honour his…
