A popular TikTok user accused of inciting violence against police officers and their families has been arrested in Nairobi, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) has confirmed.
The suspect, identified as Godfrey Mwasiaga Kakan Maiyo, was picked up by detectives on Wednesday after a viral video posted on his TikTok account allegedly called for attacks against the police.
In the four-minute clip posted by Maiyo, he implored the DCI officers to stop the abductions of unarmed Kenyans and refuse to be used by higher powers.
He further urged them to think of their own families, including their children, brothers, and sisters, when sent to “abduct Kenyans” for their activism.
“Godfrey Mwasiaga Kakan Maiyo, the suspect behind a viral video inciting violence against police officers and their families, has been arrested. The video had been uploaded to his TikTok account,” the DCI said in a statement on X.
Detectives traced the suspect to Kimathi House, where he was operating a discreet office under the name ‘LetaPeleka Logistics’.

In a viral video, three men, believed to be plainclothes DCI officers, are seen forcefully pinning Maiyo to a wall before leading him away. “Si mrelax kwanza, hii ni stima iko hapa. Mrelax kwanza,” Maiyo is heard saying in the video.
Maiyo, who has a large following on TikTok and other platforms, has recently posted videos sharply criticising the government and security agencies over alleged extrajudicial operations and abductions.
His arrest came on the same day President William Ruto issued a stern warning to those behind violent attacks on police officers and the destruction of public property.
“Those who attack our police and security installations, including police stations, are declaring war. That is terrorism, and we will deal with it decisively. We cannot allow our country to be run by terror or ruled through violence—not under my leadership,” Ruto said during an address in Nairobi.
