Francis Thombe Nyammo, fondly known as FT Nyammo, a respected former Member of Parliament for Tetu and a beloved figure in Kenya’s Rotary community, has passed away at the age of 86.
FT Nyammo died peacefully on the morning of his birthday, a poetic farewell that has moved many who knew and admired him. His passing marks the end of a remarkable chapter in public service, community leadership, and personal generosity.
A man of many titles—Charter Member, Major Donor, Past President, and Honorary Member of the Rotary Club of Karen—Nyammo was celebrated not just for his contributions, but for his character. Known affectionately as “FT” or “Fun Times,” he brought warmth, laughter, and wisdom to every space he entered.
In a heartfelt message, Rotary Club of Karen President Linet Ayuko described him as “a pillar of strength, a source of joy, and a true gentleman whose laughter and wisdom lit up every room.” She added, “Even in his departure, he leaves us a reminder of a life well-lived, full of grace, laughter, and love.”
During his years as a public servant and community leader, Nyammo left an indelible mark on countless lives. His commitment to service, whether through Parliament or Rotary, was rooted in a deep love for people and a drive to uplift others.
He is mourned by family, friends, fellow Rotarians, and the many communities he touched. His legacy—etched in service, kindness, and fellowship—will live on.
