UDA’s Isabella Leshimpiro wife to Paul Leshimpiro the former Angata Nanyukie MCA who was murdered while being driven home has won in the resultant byelection.
Leshimpiro narrowly beat her two competitors after garnering 1,235 votes followed closely by Pauline Nasieku Lenkupae of National Agenda Party of Kenya with 1,000 votes and ODM’s Letoluai Loisia with 954 votes.
While announcing the results, IEBC Returning Officer Shaolin Meiguran noted that there was a total of 15 polling stations in the vast ward with 4,204 registered voters.
Leshimpiro was shot dead inside his car in February 2024.
