Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu has announced that the highest scorer in this year’s KCSE examinations achieved an impressive 428 out of 500 marks.

While not revealing the top performer’s identity, CS Machogu shared that 8,525 candidates excelled with 400 marks and above, with 352,782 securing scores between 300 and 399 marks.

Additionally, 658,278 candidates earned scores ranging from 200 to 299 marks, while 383,025 fell within the 100 to 199 marks bracket. A total of 2,060 candidates scored 99 marks and below.

CS Machogu informed the public that Form One selection is scheduled to commence on Monday, November 27, and conclude within two weeks. This expedited process aims to afford parents ample time for secondary school preparation.

Out of the 1,406,557 candidates who sat for the 2023 exams, all are eligible for admission to Form One, adhering to the government’s 100 percent transition policy.

In a notable announcement, CS Machogu revealed that a special KCPE exam would take place in January 2024 for 9,354 candidates who missed the last 8-4-4 primary school national assessment.

To access their results, candidates, parents, and guardians can utilize various channels, including the Kenya National Examination Council (KNEC) website, SMS platforms, county education offices, and respective schools. For the SMS option, candidates need to send their index number followed by the initials KCPE (in capital letters) to 40054.
