The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has repossessed prime public land worth Sh300 million, which had been grabbed in Kisumu county. The commission’s Spokesperson Eric Ngumbi said the exercise conducted over the last two months follows a successful civil litigation process, which the agency took up on behalf of the affected government institutions. The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has hit the one trillion mark after collecting Sh1.005 trillion as of 30th November 2024. The Authority’s acting Commissioner for Strategy, Innovation and Risk Management, Alex Mwangi, said this reflects an upward trajectory in revenue collection compared to the previous financial year (2023/2024), when they reached the same milestone on 7th December 2023, with Sh1.009 trillion. “Notably, revenue collected in the last five months (July-November 2024/25), amounting to Sh1.005 billion, reflects a growth of 4.3% compared to Sh963.746 billion collected in the same period last financial year,” said Mwangi. The Judiciary has launched a new system to manage all financial transactions in a move aimed at improving efficiency in processing and managing the payment of court fees, deposits, refunds and administrative functions. Judiciary Chief Registrar Winfridah Boyani Mokaya in a press statement said the transition to the new platform is complete and the refund process which had been suspended has resumed The transition is said to be fully integrated with the e-filing and case management systems.
