Laikipia East Member of Parliament Mwangi Kiunjuri has called on Mt Kenya region to avoid divisive politics but to give ample time to President Dr William Ruto to implement his manifesto.

Kiunjuri who was speaking in Tigithi ward during a public participation forum said that retrogressive politics of spewing resentment towards the head of state will not do well to the region on matters of development.

“Our work (Mt Kenya region) is to show resentment to the President while others are appealing for development. On divisive politics, hatred, intimidation and tribalism will not take us anywhere,” said Kiunjuri.

He noted that other regions were pushing for development from the government but Mt Kenya region which was part of the Kenya Kwanza administration was the first to condemn it.

“Use the leaders you have to push for and implementation of development for the remaining term. People are saying it’s all about lies from the government but time will tell. Let’s wait and see for the remaining three years if the President will have delivered on his promises,” pointed out Kiunjuri.

Kiunjuri, who is also The Service Party leader (TSP), urged Mt Kenya people to allow the Kenya Kwanza administration to work and judge them based on their track record ahead of 2027 general elections.

“If government promises us a water project, we will have to give it time, even Rome was not built in a single day. The most important thing is to note what we have been promised including the construction of Mau Mau roads which we are waiting to see if the President will complete in his remaining term,” said the TSP leader.
