The president highlighted the need for Korean investors to turn Africa’s enormous potential into opportunities and investments that will create jobs and foster economic growth.

Dr. Ruto pointed out that Africa’s assets, including its youthful and skilled population, fertile land, huge renewable energy reserves, and vast mineral resources, are yet to be fully exploited.

He outlined food security, science and technology, peace and security, and health security as key areas of collaboration between Africa and Korea.

“This summit demonstrates a resolve to elevate this relationship and mobilize political will needed for Africa and Korea to prosper together through mutually beneficial collaborations,” President Ruto said.

“To do this, we must leverage our complementarities and implement win-win strategies on the basis of equal partnership.”

Hosted by President Yoon Suk Yeol at the Korea International Exhibition Centre in Goyang, the summit’s theme, “The Future We Make Together: Shared Growth, Sustainability, and Solidarity,” underscores the shared vision for collaborative progress.
