A night out in Muhuru Bay, Nyatike Sub-County, Migori County, turned deadly for a police officer who was found fatally stabbed outside a local bar early Friday morning.
Constable Gilbert Kibet, attached to the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) station in Muhuru Bay, was discovered with a stab wound to the neck at around 4 a.m.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Police reports indicate that Kibet was attacked by a suspect known only by the alias “Boy,” who fled the scene. A broken bottle, believed to be the murder weapon, was recovered nearby.
His body was later moved to the Migori County Referral Hospital mortuary, where a postmortem is scheduled.
