‘Africanisation and Americanization Anthology’ is out, finally

The Amazon book publishers has finally released the print and e-version of a new anthology of poems, short fiction stories, non-fiction, photo-stories and drama on the theme of Africanisation and Americanisation. The title of the anthology is Africanisation and Americanization; Africa vs North America. It has a collection of contributions from over forty writers from different countries all over the world – from Africa to North America, and even Australia.

The anthology is a collection of stories and narratives searching for inter-racial, inter-sectional, and interstate meeting spaces between Africa and America. It is comprised of 107 pieces from 43 poets, four essayists, six storytellers and 1 playwright from North America and Africa.

The collection is vibrant, discursive, penetrating, and of good value to researchers in literature and language. The poetry in the collection is a good read for social and human scientists, political theorists, race theorists, development practitioners, students, general readers and any person interested in the printed word.

The anthology, which began accepting stories in 2017, was edited by Tendai R. Mwanaka, a multi-disciplinary artist from Chitungwiza, Zimbabwe. His other literary  of works touch on non-fiction, essays, poetry, plays, fiction, music, sound art, photography, drawings, paintings, video, collage, mixed media, inter-genres as well as inter-disciplinary writings.

Something spectacular in the anthology is the work on politics of language as presented by Ngugi wa Thiong’o in his latest work, the Tongue and the Pen. There are also contemporary reflections on the politics of racism, self-hatred, migration, poverty, gender and pan-sexuality, slavery and climate change, as well as the animals and plants of Africa and America.
