President William Ruto has assigned Prime Cabinet CS Musalia Mudavadi the additional responsibility of overseeing the Foreign Affairs Ministry, in a vertical transfer of roles previously delegated to Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. In March 2023, President Ruto assigned Gachagua various foreign policy roles, including direct interactions with international organizations and government departments.
