The CS is seeking a permanent injunction to restrain estranged husband Saibulu from subjecting her and their children to physical, emotional, and verbal abuse
Environment Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya has sued her husband, Stephen Saibulu, and is asking for Sh525,000 as part of her plea that includes custody of their children and protection against abuse.
Through her legal representation at Daniel Ondabu and Company Advocates, Tuya has filed a protection order for herself, her children, and domestic workers against her husband. The court action comes in the wake of allegations of physical and emotional abuse by her estranged spouse.

In court documents seen by The Nairobi Law Monthly, Tuya’s prayer comprises Sh225,000, covering half of the school fees for their two children, as well as an additional Sh100,000 for monthly entertainment and Sh100,000 for general child support.
Simultaneously, the CS is seeking a permanent injunction to restrain Saibulu from subjecting her and their children to physical, emotional, and verbal abuse. In court documents, Tuya and her legal team argue that the abusive and erratic behaviour displayed by her husband has put the CS and her children in constant fear for their lives.
Since their separation in October 2020, the CS has been solely responsible for ensuring her children’s basic needs are met, including education, food, shelter, and clothing.
“The defendant has instead adopted a very casual approach to the financial needs of the children, contributing nothing to school fees, clothing, and other basic needs,” she noted in her court submission.
