The move follows widespread allegations of fraud after some 5,000 youths claimed that they were defrauded by the agency. The group was defrauded in a scheme that promised them overseas job placements, particularly in the run-up to the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The Judicial Service Commission has protested against reports of the intimidation and the withdrawal of the security detail of High Court judge Lawrence Mugambi days after he sentenced acting Inspector-General of police Gilbert Masengeli to prison. High court judge Lawrence Mugambi on Friday issued the orders sentencing Masengeli to prison after the acting IG failed to honour summons to appear before the court. At least six school-going children were killed on Friday morning in a road accident at Wiitu shopping centre on the Kitui-Kibwezi road. The victims, according to Ikitha Deputy County Commissioner Vincent Loctary Lomachary, included three primary school children and three from secondary school.
