As a result, they have invoked a mandate for the recall of this product by the manufacturer. The PPB has issued specific instructions to pharmaceutical outlets, healthcare facilities, healthcare professionals, and the general public:

In a statement, PPB said they have moved to quarantine the product, stopping all further distribution, sale, issuing or use of Tamedol oral solution. Further, members of the public are urged to return the product to their nearest healthcare facility, while healthcare facilities are instructed to return the products to their respective suppliers.

The PPB emphasizes its unwavering commitment to ensuring that medicines supplied to the Kenyan market conform to the required standards of quality, safety, and efficacy.

The board further assured the public that stringent measures have been implemented by the board to uphold these standards and safeguard public health.
